  • Do you offer trial lessons?
    Yes, we offer one-time à la carte lessons as a way to try out the studio before committing to a full program. However, because we often maintain a waitlist, trial lessons are typically offered after a callback or consultation to ensure a good fit and scheduling availability.
  • What's included in the lesson tuition?
    Tuition includes weekly private lessons, curriculum planning, access to asynchronous and online lessons when needed, performance opportunities, prizes/recognition/awards, and personalized support throughout the semester. (Book Costs + Fees are not included)
  • What ages do you teach?
    Ages | 3-90
  • Do you offer group lessons or only private lessons?
    Our core program is based on private one-on-one lessons to maximize individual growth. However, group lessons are on our radar, and we may occasionally offer group workshops or camps.
  • Can parents sit in on the lessons?
    Parents are always welcome to observe and are encouraged to support their child's practice at home. Depending on the student's age and maturity, we may encourage independent lesson attendance to help foster focus and confidence.
  • How long are lessons?
    Lesson durations are available in 30, 45, and 60-minute sessions, depending on the student’s age, level, and focus.
  • What curriculum or books do you use?
    We use a blend of trusted method books like Faber and Hal Leonard, alongside custom materials and classical repertoire. Each plan is tailored to the student.
  • How do I know my child is ready for piano lessons?
    If your child can count, follow basic instructions, and shows curiosity about music, they are likely ready to begin lessons.
  • What happens during a typical lesson?
    Students build skills in technique, rhythm, theory, and repertoire through engaging, off-the-bench games and activities designed to encourage creative exploration.
  • Do you offer lessons for beginners, intermediate, or advanced students?
    Yes! We work with students at every level, from complete beginners to advanced pianists preparing for recitals, auditions, or competitions.

  • Where are lessons held?
    Lessons are held in our welcoming home-based studio environment in the Bonny Oaks/Silverdale Baptist Church area. We also offer an additional teaching location at a church office building, located at 6237 Vance Rd. for select lesson days.
  • What do I need to bring to lessons?
    Students should bring their lesson book, theory book, and any additional repertoire to each lesson. Having all materials on hand helps to ensure a productive and focused session every week.
  • Is there a studio calendar or holiday schedule?
    Yes, families receive a studio calendar with all scheduled breaks, holidays, and recital dates.
  • What's your approach to behavior or discipline in lessons?
    We use gentle redirection and positive reinforcement to foster respect, focus, and joy in learning.
  • Do you allow food, siblings, or pets in the studio space?
    To minimize distractions and respect the studio space, we ask that only the student attends and no food is brought in.
  • Do you teach online lessons?
    Yes, we offer both live, online, and asynchronous formats, especially during illness or travel.
  • What if my child isn't motivated to practice?
    We work with students and families to build practice routines, set goals, and keep music engaging and fun.
  • How much should my child practice each week?
    Practice recommendations vary by age and level but typically range from 10 to 30 minutes, 3–5 days a week.
  • Do you offer recitals or performance opportunities?
    Yes! We host 1-2 recitals per year and may offer other informal showcases and events.
  • How will I know my child is progressing?
    We offer regular feedback, goal tracking, and celebrate milestones so you can see your child's musical growth.
  • What role do parents play in piano success at home?
    Parents are crucial! Encouragement, routine, and occasional supervision at home make a big difference in success.
  • What are your tuition rates?
    Rates vary by lesson length. Please visit our tuition page for current pricing for 30, 45, and 60-minute sessions.
  • What's the best value plan for my family?
    The semester Cash-in-Full payment plan offers the best savings and stability for families ready to commit to consistent learning.
  • Do you offer sibling or multi-student discounts?
    We do not currently offer sibling discounts. However, families are welcome to share one lesson slot between siblings on a rotating or bi-weekly basis if that fits their schedule and goals.
  • Do you charge late fees for missed payments?
    At this time, we do not charge late fees for missed payments. Our studio operates on an honesty-based system and the Golden Rule--we trust our families to communicate and fulfill their commitments in a timely manner.
  • Can I change my payment plan mid-year?
    Yes, you can switch between monthly and semester plans at designated transition points. Contact the studio to coordinate.
  • Is there a registration fee?
    Yes. There is a one-time $45 registration fee per family.
  • What payment options do you offer?
    We offer 2 flexible payment options: Monthly Membership (auto-drafted by card), and Cash-in-Full per semester (paid via cash, Venmo, or check). Most families choose the monthly plan for its convenience.
  • What is an Asynchronous lesson, and how does it work?
    These are video-based lessons created by your teacher, sent during the same week as a missed lesson, ensuring your child doesn’t fall behind.
  • What if we decide to quit lessons mid-semester?
    You're free to withdraw at any time, but current tuition is non-refundable as your spot has been reserved.
  • Do you offer make-up lessons?
    We allow up to 2 rescheduled lessons per semester based on availability (only reschedule one may be due to an emergency). Asynchronous (video back-and-forth lessons are unlimited.)
  • What happens if the teacher cancels?
    If we must cancel, a reschedule or asynchronous lesson will always be offered to ensure fairness. Each teacher is allotted 2 built-in floater holidays per year, which may be used for cancellations or schedule adjustments when needed. We always communicate promptly to ensure fairness and consistency.
  • What if my child has to miss a lesson?
    You will be instructed to fill out our Absentee Form in advance. We offer reschedules, asynchronous or online options, or donation to the Scholarship Fund.
  • Can we donate scheduled absences to the Scholarship Fund?
    Absolutely! This is a meaningful way to support students in need. Simply indicate your choice on the Absentee Form.
  • What qualifies as and emergency absence?
    Illness, family emergencies, or weather-related issues are considered emergency absences.
  • Do you help with school talent shows or festival auditions?
    Yes! We prepare students for school programs, festivals, and other performance goals with personalized coaching and repertoire selection.
  • Do you work with homeschool families?
    Yes! We love working with homeschoolers and can tailor daytime lesson slots and curriculum to meet your educational goals.
  • Do you offer lessons for adults?
    Absolutely. Whether you’re starting from scratch or revisiting piano after years away, we provide a relaxed and encouraging space.
  • Do you teach music theory and rhythm?
    Through fun, age-appropriate games, written work, movement, and hands-on exploration integrated into each lesson.
